Flood Case in Jakarta Declines

Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) recorded that the number of this year's flood case is declining compared to last year. Based on the latest record along January-August, there have been 700 flood cases. Last year, it was only 889 cases.

Head of Executing Units for Jakarta BPBD, Denny Wahyu disclosed, the number of flood case at the same period is declining 189 cases.

Kemang Flood Reduction Program Needs AccelerationFrom Jakarta BPBD's data, the last year's flood case includes January (221 cases), February (613 cases), March (30 cases), April (18 cases) and May (8 cases). While for three months, namely June, July and August 2015, the flood case is zero.
As for this year's flood case, includes January (26 cases), February (231 cases), March (93 cases), April (134 cases), May (26 cases), June (49 cases), July (59 cases), and August (82 cases).
Denny added, this year, flood always happens every month. It is different with previous years that only happened until May. Considering this year, still haunted by La Nina phenomenon which is rainfall intensity becomes higher than normal years.
"Last year, we have El Nino phenomenon, which is the opposite of La Nina. So weather becomes hotter. This is called wet and dry season," he finished.
